In 1978, the Fontana brothers built the world's first metal, wood-fired pizza oven in Italy. Today, while many of the outdoor pizza ovens on the market may look the same on the outside, they are not all made equal. We are proud to say that many of the first Fontana wood-fired ovens built in the late 1970s are still in use today.

Their ovens are built with all continuous solid-weld construction--never spot welding and screws like you will find in many other ovens, which will peel, split, or break under the pressures of these ovens high heat.

Our consumer ovens are constructed using 2.5 millimeter 441 (interior) and 304 (exterior) stainless steel, 12 centimeter thick insulation incorporating an innovative design that allows the ovens to achieve brick-oven temperatures in a short amount of time.
