We run these window a/c units at night for relief from the heat and humidity. They run quiet on low enough for me to sleep and stay asleep and comfortable.

I bought this Frigidaire 5,000 BTU air conditioner for our spare bedroom, about 8x10. It fit nicely in the window and it cools it very quickly. In fact, when our daughter stays here she turns it on for awhile then just uses the fan because it does cool the room so quickly. It's also quiet and it's a good looking unit. We chose the Frigidaire over other brands competitively priced because of the Frigidaire reliability reputation. We bought a Frigidaire refrigerator about 8 months ago and we're also very happy with it.

We have the previous model to this one, it looks the same. Always getting too much water in the drip pan and ruined our floor. There is no where for the water to go except in the house. Cleaned it out this year and now working terrible, continuing to now spray water in through the vent and leaking out the right side. Installed correctly. Don't have this problem with outr GE one. Do not buy.

Love the manual dial controls and the fact that there no annoying led lights on this unit. Frigidaire has made the assembly of the curtains, which slide in without having to use screws, simple! In fact the unit itself is simple and we love that it is. Thank you Frigidaire for making an affordable and efficient Window Air Conditioner. Two thumbs way up!

I bought and used - well used - an earlier version (Model FAX050P7A0) of this 5000 btu window ac in 2007. It worked, if a bit noisy, when I parted with it, replacing it with its upgrade FFRA051WAE this season. Eighteen good cool summers. Excellent.

This AC is a bit smaller than my past AC units. It doesn't cool as I expected but the weather has been extremely hot lately. (I was hoping for an ice cold 12 x 12 room.) It is somewhat louder than my previous units but tolerable.

Seems to be working well, only used it yesterday. The side panels let some air inside on the top and bottom accordion sections. The four screws to attach the top rail, two center ones don™™t hold, just keep spinning. I dropped one inside the unit and had to disassemble it to get it out, so be careful, lol.

I have central AC in a 75 year old EOG brick row home. The walls are not insulated so the upstairs does not cool (or heat) as well as the lower level that is closer to the heat pump system that supplies AC. My son has an upstairs music studio where he composes, records and gives lessons. It can get quite hot in the summer unless the AC is turned quite low (which costs a lot and makes the downstairs too cold). We bought this window AC to solve the problem and it has done exactly that with the room being very comfortable without the rest of us "freezing" downstairs.

I bought two of these A/C units after doing a lot of research and reading reviews. Pleased to say the reviews were right, they are so strong for only being 5,000 BTU units and our living room unit has cooled our living room and the hall. Definitely prefer the manual dials over electronic buttons, since we™™ve had issues with ™high tech™ unit in the past. 10/10 recommended product.

Frigidaire has always been my ™go to™™ appliance brand , and at the time of this writing, I™™m 78 years of age. Growing up we always had a Frigidaire in the kitchen. Only two, which lasted throughout parents marriage. The fridge then was tiny with a center hung freezer which could hold two ice trays and maybe a bag frozen peas and a pint of ice cream. But back then, our tv set had rabbit ears and a screen size of around 4 inches. There could be a photo of that small fridge in the dictionary right next to the word dependable.

It™™s a little louder than I™™m used to and this is only on low cool, but I do like to sleep with the background noise. I feel like it doesn™™t cool as well as I expected with such a littler room, but like I said, I™™ve only used it on low cool. Once summer hits, I™™ll definitely bump it up to high cool.

(compared to my last window mounted air conditioner) The wonderfully powerful blower is loud. The compressor is very quiet. Cools very well if the outside temperature is above 60 degrees F. There is minimal cooling when the temperature is below that mark. We wish it had louvers for up and down in addition to left and right.

Our old AC decided to just stop working right when the San Diego heat wave hit. Our apartment doesn't have central air, so the only room we had the AC was in the bedroom. I couldn't take the heat anymore, so I ordered this one and it came the next day. It doesn't fit the window perfectly, but it's close enough that I was able to seal any gaps. This is a very old building, so things have a tendency to not work correctly. Overall, very happy with the AC. Won't be using it much as we're heading into Fall and Winter, but I really like knowing it's there when we do need it. Thank you.

Such a simple, magnificent, awesome 5000 BTU window air conditioner! I purposely bought this because of the "old fashioned" knobs, I didn't want digital readout and thermostat in it. I've had problems in the past with other brands where the thermostat didn't work properly and the machine would shut down when it shouldn't have. So nice to just turn it on and it runs until I turn it off. And who needs a remote control for a window air conditioner? Have we become THAT lazy we can't get up, walk over to the machine and switch the controls. Come on people, maybe that is why obesity is rampant in America. All in all a wonderful unit that works great, just check out the amazing reviews and satisfaction of other purchasers too. The simpler the better. Highly recommended!

I bought this for my small bedroom (unsure of the exact dimensions, but I am sure it is within the specifications for this model). It has served me well so far this summer. In general, I find myself having to turn it to High Cool to actually cool things down. Not too surprising for a lower end model like this. Definitely do not purchase this if you have a larger room to cool.
