Broke central air 9/19/2020

Bought this a/c because our central air has been in and out (mostly out) since Feb 2020 but we really felt it thoughout May until Aug. The techs have replaced everything except the compressor which the OEM has sent damaged twice and canceled the last order so we needed to cool our 2500 sqft home especially the TV room n kitchen area and our upstairs bedrooms. This unit has been taking care of downstairs with a few fans to grab and push the air throughout. Very pleased and impressed.

I have had this air conditioner for for 6 to 8 weeks now, and I am very happy with it. It works exactly as advertised. The remote functions are spot on, and I love how I can set it up so it cools to the temperature set on the remote, which I keep on the other side of the room. This insyres that the whole room comes down to temp.

I bought this A/C a few weeks ago. So far it's fine and seems very powerful. I bought it to replace a similar model that completely broke. I bought the first one only 6 years ago and was told that is the "average" length of time I should expect an A/C to work. That seems really frustrating to me because I took very good care of the first one (brought it in every winter etc.). So, I'm hoping this one lasts a whole lot longer!!

Installation was difficult as the unit is very heavy and the bracket "wings" are flimsy and hard to maneuver. Operationally, I can run the unit on ECO and medium with minimal energy use and more than enough cool power.

We did have to create a ledge to sit it on as it did not fit with our window (new pella double hung windows) which our sales rep said this is a pretty common problem with most new ACs. If we could have moved the side pieces that would have helped but work aroundable. Love the eco feature ad remote sensing!!

I chose Frigidaire because it's a brand I have been familiar with since my childhood. That was a long time ago, and many of the companies from back then aren't around anymore. I equate the name with quality and durability. This did not disappoint. Although it does make some weird noises now and then, it cools off my large room very nicely. I was a bit disappointed to find that the delivery folks weren't as careful as they should have been and some of the cooling fins are bent, but otherwise it works great.

I bought this about a month ago to replace a GE air conditioner that had stopped working. The Frigidaire air conditioner is great! I use the Eco feature which saves money running the air conditioner. It keeps the room at the temperature I set. With the GE air conditioner, the temperature in the room would get much higher than the temperature setting, but the air conditioner wouldn't kick back on, while on the Eco setting. My wife and I like the Frigidaire so much, that we bought another one to replace the air conditioner in our bedroom.

Incredibly effective and efficient at cooling a 300 sq ft. room. It is for the most part very quiet, but the moment the compressor kicks on is noticeably audiable. The instructions are a little vague. I am initially satisfied with the unit. The real test of satisfaction is: Does Fridgadair still make a window unit built to last? Or, have they become like everyone else and it breaks shortly after the warranty goes out- designed to fail at a specific time - engineered obsolescence. In 5 years I'll come back & update my rating to 5 stars.
