Disappointment in refrigerator replacement

The replacement (we had this model for 20 years and wanted the replacement that would fit in the space) was disappointing. It is missing the "deli bin" where cheeses and deli meats, etc were kept. There is no accessory listed for this model. We now have significantly less storage space in the same model!

Almost a One-For-One Replacement

We completely redid our kitchen about 5 years ago from the walls out. We installed dark cherry cabinets, near white quartz countertops and decided to go with white appliances in part to make the room lighter and in part because we don't care for the cold look of stainless steel. Our 20-year-old GE Profile white side-by-side, built into the cabinets, failed recently. After some searching, we found that GE makes the same size side-by-side in white - it does not carry the Profile name. The new refrigerator has fewer shelves, but otherwise is functionally identical to the old one. The shelves from the old refrigerator fit in the new one so we are back to where we started. The ice maker in the old one never failed - we hope the new one does as well.

Loved my GE side by side which I had for 20 yrs, so went out and bought the new edition. One thing I miss is the 3rd drawer the older model had and the wine shelf. The light system in the new model is a definite upgrade tho.
