Most pleased! This unit replaces similar from 2005 in our RV. Installers commented that new bolts & hardware very sturdy. Fits space & operaes perfectly. One caveat: "Air fryer" feature is non-existent. There's a feature mode, yet serves zero purpose. Convection & Microwave features are spot on, regardless.

Nice replacement microwave/convection oven

This was a replacement for our 16 y.o. over-the-range microwave/convection oven. On the plus side, installation was much the same as the previous one--only requiring two new mounting holes in different places in the overhead cabinet. The only new feature is the air-fryer, which to us is rather superfluous. Because of the air-fryer rack, it only comes with one convection-oven rack (which is the same size/design as the previous oven). However, it still mounts for two racks so we are able to use the racks from the previous oven. The arrangement of controls is different so takes some getting used to. The add-30-sec button (used often) is quite small and needs to be pushed firmly. Opening and closing the door is noisier than the previous one. The clock does not have to be set before the oven will work (useful after rare power-outages), however the LED clock is very bright--it would be useful if there was a programming feature to allow it to be less bright. This over-the-range appliance also functions well in place of the previous range hood, although it has a louder and higher pitch sound than the previous one.

The convection microwave oven is fine. This is not the first model 9179 that we currently have. It came in our new motorhome. The issue is that for over $800, the user manual should have been included and not just the quick start guide. In addition, some recipes demonstrating and taking advantage of the advanced features of this unit would have been very helpful.

Buyer beware - not worth the money

I am so disappointed with this microwave - had high hopes regarding all the features it had. I thought I would be able to get rid of my air fryer and also do some baking in this microwave. Well, I've tried following the directions to a "T" to air fry and nothing comes out with the given time/temp. I've had to do at least double the time and still not pleased with the outcome. Tried french fries, breaded fish, shrimp to name a few. Will say the baked potatoes were okay. Tried the baking feature per book instructions - not even close to being done. So tried following internet recipes - still food was not done in time listed. So basically I paid $600 for a microwave that I can reheat in and cook vegetables - pretty high price just to do the basics. Will keep trying every so often but do not have high hopes for this at all. I gave it two stars because I like the look of it and it does perform as a regular microwave that probably would have only cost me about $100 or so, the capacity is good as well. The controls - not able to put in a time but turn the knob to reach desired time. Sorry DEFINITELY regret this choice.

Mixed bag

This product is a mixed bag. We bought it to replace a prior model, which served us well for 16 years! Good things about the new version: 1. Appearance--almost as good as the prior model 2. Ventilation--Better than the old model. We have to recirculate, not the best, but this doers a good job 3. Convection bake works well on this, as it did on the old version, but the preheat time is much faster However, there are several features about this model, some of which are the same on the old 4, As with the old model, controls are totally non-intuitive. A lack of a traditional keypad doesn't help. The scrolling messages for "settings" just don't hack it. Example is the confusing process for setting the preheat offset for the convection mode. This is not helped by a very sketchy User Manual. Lot's of user interface work needed! 5. Air fry doesn't work well at all. No real instructions, no way to know what temperature the air fry system is at, unless that's something I missed in the lack of instructions! 6.The sensor is very iffy--sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't 7. Steam clean just doesn't clean. I'm not expecting miracles. but I thought it would have a noticeable effect before using more traditional cleaners. 8. New model is missing a "keep warm" button that we used quite a bit on the old model 9. The script on the keypad is somewhat small In summary, the new model works well in microwave and convection modes. Some of the "added features like Air Fry and Steam Clean don't cut it. Non-intuitive controls and a lack of comprehensive instructions make it had to love. We bought because of a prior good experience with an earlier model despite it's similar controls. This model is not exactly cheap, so I expected the "added features" to perorm better

Installation was pretty straightforward with little issues outside of finding studs in the back wall! lol I installed it a lone without a problem, just double check your measurements and make sure the over lays are tight when making your marks for drilling. Be sure to use a 1 1/8™€ drill bit to get the power cord through the bottom of the cabinet. I wish they™€™d place the cord back further so that it doesn™€™t take up so much space in the cabinet and then have two cable ties to hold the cord in one place and out of the way so that you can use more of the cabinet.

We had a microwave convection oven installed when we built our new home eighteen years ago, but the mother board finally bit the dust this year. I just wanted to replace it with a microwave only, but my husband wanted it to be a convection oven also. I am happy that I relented and once again have both features as there are just times that you need both especially during the holidays with family. My favorite button on it is the beverage sensor to heat up my coffee in the morning when it always seems to get cold too quickly. Comes out perfect.

We bought this model as replacement for an earlier model with similar features. We love the flexibility this device offers and all the different preset programs. This is a great addition to our kitchen - both in looks and features!
