I purchased the gas 5 burner stove top specifically because the description said it came with a griddle. Upon receiving the appliance, there was no griddle included, but instructions from Kitchen Aid to register my product and I would received information to receive the griddle. I registered as instructed, but no griddle. I contacted customer support and was told it takes some time to process the registration. A month later, and still nothing from Kitchen Aid about how to get the griddle. While I like the stove top, I am not using it as intended because it is missing a key component. Very unsatisfied with Kitchen Aid for how this has been handled.

Have had it for a month or two. Great range for its primary purpose--cooking--but a couple issues with cleaning. Stainless steel surface is not smooth. This is not a problem when I clean it with a wet, soapy (Palmolive dish soap) sponge, but there is a gritty feeling when I dry it off. I have tried many different cloths and done my best to find the direction of the grain. (I am not convinced that there is a uniform direction.) Perhaps KitchenAid can send me a cloth or recommend one. Should I use a cleaner specifically designed for stainless steel, such as Weiman's? The other issue is that I don't understand the purpose of having interlocking cooking grates. In order to remove the center grate for cleaning it is necessary to move one or both of the neighboring grates. Also when putting the grates back in place, the slightly concave corners of the grates must be aligned with little nubbins on the cooktop. Doing it by feel alone doesn't guarantee success. I prefer the design of our former cooktop, a Dacor with corner feet on the grates that readily slid into the depressions on the cooktop.

Not satisfied, the fire level indicator from high to low it™€™s not visible, you have to angle your view to guess the fire level. The KitchenAid name brand it™€™s also not visible. The gas tops are weak in craftsmanship and the crates are easily scratched. I expected higher quality for the price paid.

The Kitchen Aid cooktop is a very nice gas cooktop. I like the different burner sizes and how easy it is to clean. My only concern is the quality of the cook top grates as they appear to show wear after pulling a fry pan off the grate. We are seeing the black surface scape off.

The cooktop functions very well and seems to be well made. The printing on the stainless steel above each knob indicating which burner will light is so faint, you can barely see it. Additionally, there is an offer for a griddle after you register your cooktop that has not been fulfilled.

I purchased this in August from Lowes, did not receive until October, in the mean time I had new cabinets and countertops put in from Lowes, so I am just now getting it installed, when ordered description said easy to convert to propane, ordered, at extra expense, kit to do this. Did not have parts labeled correctly, had to call whirlpool serviceman, they have been out four times and still don™€™t have it working. They said for me to contact gas company to come out and check regulator which has cost me $120.00 which I need reimbursed from you plus propane kit, gas regulator checked out fine.

Have had this over a year. Have cooked on gas before but not a cooktop. For the most part it's been a good experience. I have a suggestion for the markings on the labeling around the knobs. The silver signage is too light and difficulty to read when operating. I have put small colored stick on jewels to help me know what burner I'm using.

I love Kitchen Aid products, but this one is lacking a little. The first big issue is the inability to clearly see the dial markings for Low, High, Power, Simmer, etc. They need more contrast. The other issue is that there is only one burner, the one in the middle, that manages to boil water "quickly," but it's still slow. If I am boiling water on the middle burner, but trying to cook other things, the pot of water is in the way of me using the other burners.

Sandpaper finish and poor labeling. So sad!

I just received my 30 inch cooktop. $1500 dollars. No use taking it out of the box as I am returning. The low grade sandpaper textured stainless finish is poor quality. The labeling is very poor and unreadable. First cleaning and it is gone. As a previous Director of Operations and having Stainless in my plant daily I can tell you this manager should be fired. Look at all the reviews over 8 months complaining of the same thing and still no fix. Where is your quality control. I had this same unit at my last house and the Stainless and labeling were excellent. I see Kitchenaide has moved there stovetops to a new facility and that must be when your problem started. Get it together Your losing customers left and right due to poor material purchasing and poor mfg oversight.

I've owned this appliance for 4 years now and it works great. The position of the burners could be a little more offset to make room for larger pots/pans used simultaneously, but it hasn't been a big deal. I love how the burners in use light up. When we first remodeled our kitchen, we had propane service. Then gas was installed in our neighborhood. I needed to convert BACK to gas but was missing one little conversion tip for one of the burners. Kitchenaid refused to help. The parts come on color coded cards, and I let them one was missing and since being removed I wasn't sure which one went to what burner, and that it was creating a danger to possibly be using the wrong one. Kitchenaid did not care. I had to hunt down the closest possible match to get my burner to work. To this day it does not work correctly, and clicks constantly when turning down below a certain point. This was a simple fix I'm sure may have cost them all but $2, if even that. Now I can only use the burner on high, and am fearful to use it at all. Shame on you, Kitchenaid. Very, very poor customer service.

My only complaint is the poor adhesive backing on the lighted rings around the knobs. The adhesive gave up early and KitchenAid does not provide any repair kit for the adhesive.

Love My Cooktop

We bought the cooktop over a month ago and love it. I have used the simmer feature multiple times making soups and Chilli. It's easy to use and clean up.

KitchenAid refuses to address a safety issue.

We have had our cooktop for almost a year now. We only have one issue with it but, in my opinion it™€™s a BIG one and a safety issue. KitchenAid originally said it was covered under warranty. The replacement part that was sent had the exact same issue. Now, KitchenAid says it is a cosmetic issue and is not covered. When I talk to KitchenAid, they tell me that it is covered but their repair contactor tells me that KitchenAid tells them that it is not covered. As you can see in photo one (KitchenAid™€™s photo from their website), you can see the knob information is in black and easy to read. In photo two (my cooktop), you can™€™t see the knob information. This creates a safety issue since you can™€™t tell what you are turning on or what level the burner is set at. All our appliances in our kitchen are KitchenAid and I am very disappointed in they way they are handling this situation. Our friends have the same cooktop except theirs is 36™€ vs. our 30™€ and their knob information is black and very easy to read, unlike ours which is silver on stainless steel. Silver on stainless steel is virtually impossible to read unless the light hits it just right. I am very disappointed with KitchenAid, and this will definitely cause me to choose a different brand when we purchase other appliances. KitchenAid is unwilling to address a safety issue.
