3 Years and $575 in Repairs Already to Fix Lock

I bought both the washer WM4200HWA and dryer DLEX4200W in February 2022 and have been very happy with both. Last week my washer started having issues with the door not locking and the washer will no longer work. I called the company I bought the machine from and scheduled a service appointment. The repair guy told me the washer needs a new control board and door lock. The cost for the repair is $575. He also told me he had seen the same issue with 3 other LG machines that day. I wish this could be covered under some kind of warranty. I love my washer and was definitely expecting it would have lasted several more years. Disappointed and hope to get my LG love back.

Dont waste your money

The wash cycles take forever. The clothes come out twisted together and in knots. I dont know how any are getting clean when they come out in a ball. Also it smells horrible I leave the door and the soap tray open after each use as directed. My husband has taken it apart once and found so much sludge in the rubber door piece and behind the basin. If I dont wipe it down after use the slimy sludge comes back immediately. Its disgusting. And why do I have to clean a washing machine daily and run a monthly cleaning cycle?? Worst money weve ever spent. Id take my top loader back in a heartbeat

IMPOSSIBLE TO READ SETTINGS AND NO CUSTOM PROGRAM

The questions and answers for this model state: Hey there Indeed To create a custom program on the LG WM4200HBA washer you just need to follow a few simple steps. First you can turn on the washer and select a cycle that is close to what you want. Then you can easily adjust the temperature and spin speed according to your preferences. You can also add extra options to enhance your washing experience if needed. Once you have everything set up how you like it simply save the program by holding down the Custom Program button or any other designated button. If you need more detailed instructions refer to the manual for your washer. Remember that custom program features may vary depending on the model so its always a good idea to consult the manual or contact support for additional guidance. Anthony THIS IS INCORRECT AND I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS MODEL IF I HAD KNOWN IT DID NOT SAVE CUSTOM PROGRAMS LIKE MY PRIOR LG FRONT LOAD WASHER. I am happy I bought this washer. We think the clothes are getting cleaner than the old machinewas doing. it might be a little too big for 2 of us but small load works out nicely. Just wish the instructions were a little clearer as to using Wi-fi. Also so many choices of cycles to use. We probably will never use 1/2 of this machines capibility

Best purchase i have made in 15 years. That is the age of the washer I replaced and now know why our wardrobe was getting so dingy. it was not getting clean. Now know what white should look like. and it does a better with all colores. We are still finding things about this machine that we did not know when we bought it. every time it is used something new pops up. Always an experience that just keeps getting better.

Delayed Install

I wish I could tell you how the washer is.. but I do not have it yet. It was scheduled for delivery on July 16. That morning I get a message saying it is delayed and the earliest I will be receiving it is July 31. Now Im not sure if this is an LG Delivery issue or a different delivery issue but since I scheduled for someone to install it Im assuming the installer is coming from LG services. I just wish I had more of a heads up rather than receiving a text the morning of.

Super machine

We have had our new thin Q dryer for about a month and it is fabulous. It has so many handy features that it makes doing laundry a breeze. It is so quiet. Having the app on my phone to remind me when the cycle is complere really helps me. Scheduling start times is also a great feature.

I love the large capacity. I can wash comforters. Although my clothes do not come out clean. Theres not enough water to wash my clothes to come out clean. I have to run 3 rinses everytime to get the soap out. Also laundry pods stain the clothes because theres not enough water to dissolve the laundry pod.

My review is for the WM4200HBA. It has been a reliable washer for the last 10 months. It has many wash features I have not even used yet. I do think the remote app feature is a plus. I have a couple of negative issues that doesnt interfere with the performance of the machine. 1.Water droplets collect in the drum after every wash 2. the tinted window does not allow you to see through.

Customer support is the worst ever encountered all apologize no one helps all sound like pre-recorded speech. Well Im not sure i like it its noisy it has lights inside which is one reason i got it but there is no button to turn it on i read the manual twice i wish I got a smaller version or something with less buttons. I do like the chime telling you when it is done.

When my 7 year old top load Maytag Washers transmission decided to go out and started squeaking like a mouse in a cheese factory my husband and I were left with the dreaded task of decided to fix it an expense that cost as much as the washer did new or replace it 3 weeks before Christmas. We ultimately decided to replace both the washer and dryer. After some investigative researching in my local moms group on Facebook time and again LG front load washers were recommended. I had my reservations about a front load washer as Ive always been told they dont clean as well as the old top load with an agitator. Well we bit the bullet and to my pleasant surprise I love this washer. It is clean sleek quiet efficient and most importantly gets our clothes clean. All of my reservations were relieved within a week of owning the machine. Not only is it far more environmentally friendly than our old washer but it is much nicer to look at and gets a load done in half the time. Thats to say nothing of the app on my phone that lets me track when a clean cycle needs to be run and reminds me when a load needs to be move to the dryer. We were even able to connect it to our smart home system so it announces when a load is done. This this is so nice and simple to use that my 5 and 7 year old boys starting fighting over who could help/take over doing the laundry with me. I sincerely cannot recommend this washer enough. It made the pain of having to buy a new set so close to Christmas much more bearable.

Not a great washer or experience

Ive had this washer about 2 years. Stainless steel drum came apart at a year. Had to buy an interim washer while we waited months for parts to come it. Main circuit board went out last month. It was down for another week waiting on parts. Warranty expires this month. Wondering when its gonna break again.

Warranty issues

Home Depot did not send paperwork of the sale of my equipment. The sale vs the delivery were more than 8 weeks different. Consequently it showed the item was out of warranty. More time was lost trying to get the two companies to agree it is in warranty. Problem Have a spin problem with heavy loads. Wasted a few weeks trying to get proper paperwork. Initial company that started the appointment Process dropped out now I am working with Sears ? Parts are being sent that do not appear to me to alleviate the spin issues? . I contacted them a few times to no avail? I wanted to make certain they understood the problem as time is running out for warranty. My appointment is 2/16/24 and they tell me parts are on the way? This is very concerning
